History of present illness: A 67-year-old male presents for evaluation for a rash behind his knees, which tends to flare up in the springtime. He is concerned because he was diagnoses with atopic dermatitis, and given a corticosteroid steroid cream. However, he is retired and has recently taken up gardening in order to stay active and grow his own food. As a result, the patient notes that he spends a lot of time outdoors, and he was told not to avoid sunlight when taking these medications. He cannot change his lifestyle to accommodate this rule, and so he presents today for a consultation.
